Former AC Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini has said that whilst Inter are the team to beat they are not overwhelming favourites for the Scudetto this season, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with Il Mattino, Demetrio Albertini explained that multiple teams are still in with a very good chance winning the Scudetto this season and it is not clear that Inter will win it.

“I think Sunday’s match will be very important for the championship fight. Inter are Italian champions and they are the team to beat. But I don’t see an absolute favourite for the final victory.”

AC Milan and Napoli play each other on Sunday evening and if the Rossoneri win that game then they will be six points clear of Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli side.

When asked what it really takes to win the Scudetto Demetrio Albertini said that the most important thing is to manage the bad patches of the season which is exactly what AC Milan and to a greater extent Napoli are in right now.

“The Scudetto is won by the team that best manages the downturns. Because these moments always come within a season, they are physiological.”

The two teams face off on Sunday evening.
