Former Chilean striker Patricio Yanez has said that Inter striker Alexis Sanchez is not the same player that he used to be, according to a report in the Chilean media.

Speaking during an interview with Red Gol in Chile, via FCInternews, Patricio Yanez explained that the injury record that Alexis Sanchez now has against his name means he cannot give the same level of performance that he used to do.

“He is an often injured player, who has dropped a lot. He played well in the last game, but then he doesn’t play four and when he enters the field, he does it for only 15 minutes.”

He went on to say that no one would pay the sort of money that Inter have invested into him now that he is older and more injury-prone.

He has been linked with a move to one of his former clubs, Barcelona, but Patricio Yanez feels that the player would be thrilled if the Spanish side really does decide to bring him back.

“He is very far from the player we knew. Today, no one would pay the millions that other clubs have invested in the past. Going to Barcelona would be a real gift for him.”

Alexis Sanchez is the highest earner at the Nerazzurri right now and the club are keen to offload him.
