Inter are today expected to announce the departure of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen from the club due to health reasons, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Danish midfielder and his agent met with Inter spring CEO Beppe Marotta and the club’s lawyer yesterday in Milan to finalise his exit from the club as a player.

This is because the defibrillator that Christian Eriksen has been fitted with since his cardiac arrest on the pitch at EURO 2020 precludes him from playing professional football in Italy.

He is expected to pursue his footballing career elsewhere with destinations such as Odense, Ajax, and the Premier League all looking very possible.

The Dane may return to San Siro in 2022 so that he can receive reception from the Inter fans and thank them for all the good wishes they have sent him during such a difficult time.
