Inter will be facing a very tough run of fixtures in the new year as the calendar is no longer mirrored, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Serie A calendar traditionally sees the same order of fixtures played in both halves of the season.

That format has been changed this season so that it is more like the Premier League where a random order is produced for the entire campaign.

For that reason when Inter returns from their Christmas break, they will have a different run of games than the start of the season.

By chance, Inter will have to face Lazio and Atalanta in Serie A in January as well as Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana.

Inter will want that spell to go well because at the beginning of February they will face AC Milan again.
