Italian journalist Antonio Di Gennaro has praised the quality of the executive staff at Inter after a turbulent period for the club, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking live whilst on TMW Radio, Antonio Di Gennaro explained that Simone Inzaghi was able to take advantage of the quality of the staff at Inter including the likes of sporting CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio.

“After the summer departures Inzaghi made himself loved by the players and he took advantage of a staff that is the strongest in Italy. At the managerial level, especially Marotta, Inter did an important job, but they could have collapsed.”

When asked whether Simone Inzaghi is doing a better job at Inter than Antonio Conte did, Antonio Di Gennaro stressed that that cannot be judged until the end of the season as that is when you see how a coach had adapted throughout the season.

“The judgements are made at the end. After leaving Europe, Conte reviewed certain situations, he armoured the defence, he played differently to get the only result left after the farewell to the cups.”

Antonio Di Gennaro compared Simone Inzaghi’s Intr side to Roberto Mancini’s Italy team that recently won the UEFA European Championship due to the slick passing on the ground and the defenders that are willing to join the attack.

“Now there is balance and the Nerazzurri have a high quality of play. They all seem involved and less predictable. Inter always have the ball on the ground, it almost seemed like Mancini’s Italy, but I see total football with the double play, the defenders who get forward.”
