Inter recorded their first win against Salernitana away ever in the Serie A after demolishing the hosts by 5-0 at the Stadio Arechi.

The Nerazzurri took charge from the first minute and were two goals up at halftime after goals from Ivan Perisic and Denzel Dumfries.

Simone Inzaghi’s men scored three after the break with Alexis Sanchez, Lautaro Martinez and Roberto Gagliardini getting on the scoresheet.

Samir Handanovic – 7: Didn’t have much to do for the best part of the match. Made a world class save from ex-Inter player Obi. Great to see the hunger for a clean sheet.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6.5: As is now usual, Danilo did the basics right in defense though Inter didn’t come under pressure for more than a couple of minutes from Ribery & co.

Stefan De Vrij – 6.5: Still looking to get back to full fitness and this was a decent game to do so. Led the line very well. The passing is getting better with each minute.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6.5: Another top game by Bastoni. Realized that Salernitana weren’t going to attack his flank much and made himself available going forward with the ball.

Denzel Dumfries – 7: Should have had an assist in the first half along with his well taken goal. Was solid when he had to defend. Confident and ambitious in possession.

Nicolo Barella – 6: Barella got an early booking for a rash challenge. Struggled to keep his cool for the entire game. Extra few days of rest before the Christmas break.

Marcelo Brozovic – 7: Salernitana tried to harry and hassle him. They tired out very quickly and he gained control of the midfield. Velvety touch with steely determination.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 7.5: Hakan continued his renaissance. Was always involved in each attacking move and it showed as he got two more assists to add to his tally. What a signing!

Ivan Perisic – 7: All round performance from Ivan who was unbeatable in defense and irresistible in attack. Looked dangerous each time Inter attacked. Well taken goal.

Edin Dzeko – 6.5: Looked a little rusty at the start and couldn’t get involved with the play. Perfect assist to Denzel and then he didn’t look back. Should have scored tonight.

Alexis Sanchez – 7: Very similar game to the one against Cagliari. Took the first 15 mins to settle in and then was always a thorn for Salernitana. Scored with his last touch.

Arturo Vidal – 6: Was brought on for Barella who wasn’t having the best of nights and took a few mins to get the pace of Inter’s play. Good to have experience on the bench

Federico Dimarco – 5.5: Chose the right night to have an off day. The passing and movement didn’t seem up to his usual standard. Maybe the new contract will boost his morale.

Lautaro Martinez – 7: Well taken goal for Lautaro who continued his domestic scoring run. Looked lively and chased down every loose ball in and around the box. Important.

Roberto Gagliardini – 7: Gagliardini has always had the right timing to run into the box and that resulted in a lucky assist to Lautaro and a goal for him tonight. Starter vs Torino?

Aleksander Kolarov – N/A: Simone felt confident enough to bring Kolarov on when Inter were 4 goals up. Clearly his locker room presence is his best attribute at the moment.

Simone Inzaghi – 7.5: Perfect game plan by Simone. Great timing of substitutes and the rotation of his important players has been spot on all month. His Inter are delightful.

Maurizio Mariani – 7: No major decisions to make for Maurizio tonight but he handled the hot heads of Barella and Hakan well. Didn’t blow for soft fouls and let the game flow.

Inter – 7: Inter have scored 16 goals in their last 5 games without conceding a single goal. Another fantastic team performance where they dominated the full 90′.
