New Salernitana boss Stefano Colantuono has said that his team must out in the perfect performance if they are to beat Inter on Friday evening, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with the official Salernitana website, Stefano Colantuono explained that his team are facing one of the best in the division and it will have to be a perfect match if they are to get anything out of the game.

“Tomorrow we face the best form opponent of the championship who is in top condition and this will make our task even more difficult.

“We will need a perfect performance to try and win it. The team has always fought but at this moment even luck does not help us because in the last few games the performance has been there and we would have deserved more.

“In the ten matches, including tomorrow’s, played under my leadership, we have faced six top clubs with a reduced squad and all this has amplified the difficulties.”

Salernitana are firmly rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table having amassed just eight points from 17 matches so far.

Inter meanwhile are now sitting top of the division having won five matches in a row. That is why many feel Salernitana could be on the end of a battering when Simone Inzaghi’s side come to town.

The match will kick off at 20:45 local time on Friday with Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez expected to start.
