Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is aiming to break Antonio Conte’s winter points record with the Nerazzurri this season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, if Inter beat Salernitana and Torino before Christmas then they will be sat on 46 points which is five points more than the team ever managed by this stage in the season under Antonio Conte.

Not only would it mean getting the better of his predecessor, but reaching 46 points would also mean that Simone Inzaghi has beaten the tally set by Jose Mourinho who managed 43 and 45 points in his two seasons.

The manager that Simone Inzaghi will not be able to beat in this respect is Roberto Mancini who was at 51 and 49 points by Christmas when he was at the club.

Winning both games will ensure that Inter are the winter champions which they were not last season.
