AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli feels that Inter’s good form over the past few weeks is far from a guarantee that they can go all the way and win the Scudetto again.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s Serie A clash with Napoli tomorrow, as reported by FCInter1908, the coach emphasized that the season is still long and that the Rossoneri can easily keep themselves in the Scudetto chase.
The Nerazzurri had been seven points behind both their city rivals as well as Napoli only a few weeks ago, but they completed a rapid ascent to the top of the table with a win over Cagliari last weekend.
Inter beat the Rossoblu 4-0 to take three points and a step ahead of the Rossoneri who had dropped points to Udinese the day before.
This was a continuation of a trend since the return from the November international break of Inter beginning to find their best form right as their rivals have begun dropping more points, but Pioli doesn’t feel that this should necessarily be expected to continue.
“Inter are flying and showing all their qualities,” he stated, “but titles are not won in December, we must aim to take as many points as possible trying to improve on our last season.”
He went on that “It will be important to take more points during the second round. We got to a flying start at the beginning by winning all our games, they are doing that now. We are not racing against anyone.”
