Former Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is aiming to make his return to the pitch now that he’s departed from the Nerazzurri with no prospect of playing for the club again.

This according to the 29-year-old’s agent Martin Schoots, who explained to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that he plans to play again and also that he is hoping to accept an invitation to San Siro next month.

The decision to terminate Eriksen’s contract by mutual consent was not one taken lightly by either Inter or by the midfielder.

However, with no chance of the Dane making his return in an Inter shirt due to the verdict of Italian health and safety regulations, he has officially said his goodbye to the club.

The 29-year-old is ready to start considering his next move in football now, according to his agent, and has already been pursuing some possibilities for his next club.

“Chris is in good physical condition,” he stated. “He will play again, I’m optimistic, football is his passion.”

“Let’s see what January brings,” he added. “I’ll say this: two clubs have already contacted me to find out how he’s doing.”

“And this happened some time ago, when he was still under contract with Inter but was already training on his own, away from the spotlight,” the Schoots continued.

He continued by explaining that “It was clear that it would end like this, specifically because Italy is the only country that does not allow you to take the field or even train with a defibrillator implant.”

The agent went on that “So far he has only been able to say goodbye to the directors, but he will also see his teammates.”

“He absolutely wants to visit San Siro as early as January,” he continued, “to see the wonderful fans who are crazy about him.”

“They strongly wanted him as a player, and once they really knew him, they appreciated him as a person. Apart from football, this connection will remain forever,” Schoots concluded.
