Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu knows that he has a reference point in attack in the form of striker Edin Dzeko.

Speaking to the club’s official social media channel, the 27-year-old emphasized that he enjoys being able to find fellow summer signing Edin Dzeko with his forward passes as he knows that he can rely on the Bosnian’s quality.

For a player in Calhanoglu’s position, having solid options up front is important, as his work from midfield can be in vain if the opportunities that he creates are squandered by those ahead of him.

This has not been a problem for the Turk since joining from AC Milan during the summer, and the presence of Dzeko, who joined in the summer himself from Roma, has been a big part of the reason why.

The 35-year-old has scored prolifically, and also shown strength, technical ability, and tactical understanding with his polished holdup play and playmaking, something important for a creative midfielder like Calhanoglu.

“I have an excellent relationship with Dzeko,” he said. “I’m always looking for him when I have the ball, because he’s a dangerous striker.”

He also joked that “Brozovic is jealous of my relationship with Barella, because I stole his little brother.”
