Inter Primavera head coach Christian Chivu is in isolation following confirmation of contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Romanian coach was not on the bench of today’s Primavera match against Lecce’s Under-19 team.

Chivu reported the contact with a person who had been confirmed to be positive for COVID not long before the match, and could not be on the sidelines for the match.

The person who the 41-year-old came into contact with was not a part of the club, and it remains to be seen whether the coach has himself become positive for the virus or how long he will have to isolate for.

For the clash with Lecce, Chivu’s assistant Gabriele Bonacina took his place on the sideline, and will continue to do so for as long as the Romanian is unable to return.
