Inter are considering Lille defender Sven Botman as a potential long-term replacement for Stefan de Vrij at the heart of their defense.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the 21-year-old would be one of the major targets for the Nerazzurri should de Vrij be sold next summer.

Inter are preparing for the possible departure of de Vrij next summer transfer window, with the 29-year-old’s current deal set to run out at the end of June 2023 and a number of clubs interested in his signature.

Were the Dutchman to be on his way then the Nerazzurri would be ready to replace him with his national teammate Botman.

Botman has already won Ligue 1 with Lille last season, having established himself as a key player with the French side since his move from Ajax in the summer of 2020.

Inter’s city rivals AC Milan are also interested in the young Dutchman, however, among the clubs who the Nerazzurri would have to compete with for his signature.
