Inter winger Ivan Perisic has said there is still time for him and the club to discuss his contract extension, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to DAZN after the 5-0 victory against Salernitana on Friday night, via FCInternews, Ivan Perisic who is out of contact in June 2022 appeared very calm about his future and the talks he will hold with the club.

“We haven’t talked, we still have six months. We’ll see.”

Ivan Perisic scored the opening goal of the match in the first half for Inter and from then on it was very easy for the Nerazzurri. The Croatian appeared to care more about the team’s victory than his own goal.

“It’s always nice to score, but the important thing is when the team wins. We did well from the first minute, we have to continue like this.

“We are fine and it shows on the pitch. Everyone defends, everyone attacks; we have found the balance.”

Inter beat Napoli 3-2 in a very big game in the title fight earlier this season and have looked unstoppable since. Ivan Perisic feels the turning point their form may have come even sooner.

“Maybe with Napoli, but even earlier. We did well in the derby, missed the penalties but we are doing well. We are all fighting and it shows.”

Ivan Perisic has already matched his goals tally for last season but he feels he has to defend more this season.

“I’m no longer a winger, I have to defend more. But that’s okay, I have to continue like this too. It’s nice to play with this team, now we have to win the last game.”
