Inter have found corners to be a regular route to goal this season thanks to the quality of the deliveries from midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who note that the Turk’s five assists from corners leads the way in major European leagues.

Inter opened the scoring in yesterday’s 5-0 rout of Salernitana when Ivan Perisic headed home from a Calhanoglu, and this was only the latest assist by the 27-year-old directly from a corner.

The former AC Milan midfielder assisted Milan Skriniar from the corner flag on his Nerazzurri debut against Genoa, and then assisted Edin Dzeko in a 3-1 win over Fiorentina.

The 27-year-old assisted Perisic from a corner for the first time in the 3-2 win over Napoli last month, and then assisted Lautaro Martinez from a corner to break the deadlock against Cagliari last weekend.

These deliveries from corners have become a hallmark of the Nerazzurri’s style of play, a potent weapon, and so far this campaign no other player has set up as many goals as Calhanoglu has from corners.
