Roma head coach Jose Mourinho believes that Inter are currently at a higher level than any other side in the Italian top flight, even including other teams at the top end of the table.

Speaking in a press conference after the Giallorossi beat Atalanta 4-1 at the Gewiss Stadium, the Portuguese tactician singled out his old club as the strongest side in Serie A by far.

The Nerazzurri have surged to the top of the Serie A table over the past few weeks, and were done a favour by their old coach whose Roma team took all three points off of Atalanta to leave La Dei six points back of Inter.

At least one out of AC Milan and Napoli will drop points tomorrow when the two teams meet, and the Nerazzurri should be in an even more advantageous position at the end of the weekend than they were coming into it, having themselves beaten Salernitana 5-0 yesterday.

Mourinho feels that this Inter side are at a level entirely on their own compared to their rivals, having seen his own team dismantled 3-0 at home by them only a couple weeks ago.

“I don’t even talk about Inter because for me they are at a level that cannot be compared with any other team in Serie A,” he said, “even Atalanta, Napoli, or Milan.”
