Inter President Steven Zhang is very happy with how head coach Simone Inzaghi has impacted the team since arriving in the summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri President has been observing the changes this season and is thrilled with what he sees.

Inzaghi was brought in from Lazio during the summer with the unenviable task of replacing former head coach Antonio Conte who had enjoyed significant success during his two seasons in charge.

So far the 45-year-old has not only taken the place of Conte but also allowed the Nerazzurri to evolve stylistically and see results on the pitch that even last season would have seemed out of reach.

Inter have the best attack in Serie A so far this season with 48 goals from only seventeen games, while their fifteen goals conceded means that they have the second best defense after Napoli.

The Nerazzurri have stormed to the top of the Serie A table in recent weeks with six wins out of six since the return from the November international break.

In the last five of these victories Inzaghi has guided his team to a win with a clean sheet, the last time the Nerazzurri have won this many consecutive matches without conceding since 1996.

Last season’s Scudetto win under Conte was important to bring Inter to the top of Serie A for the first time in eleven years and to change the mentality in the team.

However, Zhang feels that under Inzaghi the team are now taking the next step from last campaign’s achievements.
