Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that current Nerazzurri midfielder Roberto Gagliardini does a very good job as a squad player.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rai Radio, Adani emphasized that while the 27-year-old is not a player who starts regularly, his performers levels are dependable when he is called upon.

Gagliardini scored his second goal of the season against Salernitana on Friday, rounding off a 5-0 win with a well-taken effort from the bench.

The 27-year-old had also found the back of the net against Spezia, and he has proven himself a reliable option from the bench or as a rotation player throughout the season.

Adani believes that the former Atalanta man has cemented a place for himself as an important depth option in midfield even if he is not likely to ever make himself one of the key players in the starting eleven ahead of other options.

On whether the 27-year-old has been worth the fee Inter paid for him, Adani stated that “At Inter he is a reserve player, but when he plays he fills in well for the starters. He is a consistent player, performing well.”
