Inter have led the way for home attendance in Serie A over the past five seasons, with a total of 4.2 million spectators watching the Nerazzurri at the San Siro over the past five seasons.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who also note that the Nerazzurri have had the highest average home attendance in the league this season as well.

This season fans have been able to return to stadiums after more than a year in which matches were played behind closed doors due to the pandemic, though not at full capacity yet.

The Nerazzurri have enjoyed the support of 40,530 spectators at the San Siro on average, and a total of 324,242 spectators in total across their eight home fixtures this season.

City rivals AC Milan are just behind them with an average of 40,457 fans per home fixture, but the Nerzzurri have the highest home attendance.

Over the past five seasons, moreover, a total of more than 4.2 million spectators have attended the San Siro to watch the Nerazzurri’s matches.

The highest totals for a single season came during the 2018-19 campaign, when an average of 62,000 spectators were in attendance for Inter’s home matches, a total of 1,105,547 across the entire season, making the club the fifth highest-attended in Europe, ahead of Real Madrid.
