Inter are among the clubs who could look to sign out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho during the January transfer window.

This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, who report that the Catalan giants are looking to offload the 29-year-old in January and that the Nerazzurri are in the race for his signature alongside Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Coutinho is not in the plans of recently-appointed Blaugranas head coach Xavi, and would be allowed to leave the club as part of a potential exodus of fringe players to help meet Financial Fair Play requirements.

A number of Premier League clubs are interested in the Brazilian’s signature, namely Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Everton, and the Nerazzurri have joined them in pursuing the player who has already spent time at the Giuseppe Meazza earlier in his career.

Meanwhile, striker Luuk de Jong, who had been linked with a move to Inter as part of an exchange for Alexis Sanchez, prefers a move back to his former club PSV according to the report.
