Legendary former Inter, Sampdoria, and Roma forward Antonio Cassano believes that Nerazzurri midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is one of the best players in Europe in his position.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInter1908, the 39-year-old suggested that the Croat has grown into a complete player with few equals at the top level.

When Brozovic arrived at Inter in 2015, he did not immediately become a key player in the Nerazzurri squad, and had a role as more of an attacking or wide midfielder.

Over his time at the club, however, the 29-year-old has improved season on season and changed his playing style, turning into a deeper and more central midfielder.

Successive coaches Luciano Spalletti, Antonio Conte, and Simone Inzaghi have each managed to find higher performances levels from Brozovic who is now key to how the team runs and one of the most effective midfielders on the continent.

“I can’t explain Brozovic’s evolution,” Cassano said. “I thought he was a good player, but now he is one of the best players in Europe. The central player of Inzaghi’s Inter today is Brozovic.”
