Legendary former Inter, Real Madrid, and Roma forward Antonio Cassano believes that Simone Inzaghi has made the style of play more attractive at Inter.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 39-year-old gave the view that the former Lazio coach has added aesthetic qualities to the already formidable Nerazzurri setup of Antonio Conte.

Inter found a way to win ruthlessly last season, and often played very exciting and fast-paced football in the process, but they also had to dig in and play a very organized and defensive style at times.

This season the Nerazzurri have continued to dominate, especially in recent weeks, but the style has been more attacking, based on more possession of the ball and a higher defensive line.

Cassano gave the view that “Conte did an exceptional job, while Inzaghi has given the team something in terms of imagination and beauty. I would never have imagined them reaching such a peak only after four months.”

“I was impressed by the fact that all 25 players in the squad are participating,” he added, “for example Sanchez has been brought in to the team to great effect. It’s a masterpiece from Simone.”

Cassano also gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri’s Champions League round of sixteen tie against Liverpool, in which he sees the Premier League side as favourites but still believes that it can be open.

“I see the English big favorites, but the Nerazzurri will go for it, regardless of everything, openly,” he stated.

“I can’t imagine Inter just sitting back and waiting against the Reds given how they play in Italy,” he added, “anything can happen in football: maybe Liverpool won’t score from ten chances and Inter score two goals and win undeservedly.”
