Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi and Empoli’s Samuele Ricci are among Inter’s targets in midfield for next summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are seriously pursuing both players as long-term midfield targets.

Frattesi has impressed for Sassuolo this season, coming back to the Neroverdi from a loan spell at Monza in Serie B and immediately cementing a place for himself as a regular starter.

Meanwhile, Ricci has also come up from Serie B this season with Empoli, and the 20-year-old has looked up to the pace of top flight football quickly.

The Nerazzurri will likely have spots in their midfield to fill next summer with Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino both seeing their contracts expire at the end of June 2022 and not likely to renew.

To shore up central areas the club are likely to focus on young Italian players, and Frattesi and Ricci are among the two main targets.
