Inter have settled on the “Cathedral” design from US architectural design firm Populous for the new stadium to be built in Milan, and they feel that it will have many significant new features.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the clubs could each earn as much as €80 million per season from the new stadium, and detail the features it will have.

The current San Siro stadium has a capacity of 80,000, and this would be reduced to 65,000 for the new stadium meant to take its place.

However, the new stadium would have significantly more “executive” seats which would greatly increase the amount of revenues that the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri could bring in from ticket sales.

Moreover, the stadium promises to be the most ecologically sustainable in Europe, with solar panels installed around it and a large green space gallery around it.

The tunnel of the new design is naturally ventilated, while the stadium will be able to change colours based on which of the two Milan teams are playing in it on a given evening.
