Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni feels that the Nerazzurri have found the solutions they’ve needed to their issues from earlier in the campaign.
Speaking to InterTV after their win over Torino earlier this evening, the 22-year-old gave the view that this result was another demonstration of the team’s growth over the course of the season.
Inter came up against a very talented and well-organized Torino side, and it was not easy to keep themselves in control throughout the match.
The Granata especially looked to be proactive in the second half of the match, chasing an equalizer and pushing the Nerazzurri high up the pitch.
However, Inter had already gotten the opener they needed as a result of their positive play during the first half, and they should that they could dig in and protect a lead, something that had not always been the case earlier in the season.
“We knew the type of match it was going to be,” Bastoni stated, “in this kind of match you have to be ready or else be in serious difficulty.”
“Fortunately we won, and it was a great victory,” he continued. “It was very important, we knew the level of difficulty because Juric’s teams are tactically very complex to deal with.”
“Luckily we won,” he went on. “After a difficult start to the season, we have done well to work and talk, and we fixed the problems from earlier in the season.”
Bastoni concluded by reflecting on his 2021, stating that “Raising the Scudetto and then the European Championship was incredible, I hope to have more experiences like that next year.”
