Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is hoping to equal the club record set by Julio Cruz and score in seven consecutive matches for the Nerazzurri in Serie A.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that with the Argentine currently on five consecutive matches with a goal, he will feel that the record is within reach.

Martinez has scored in all of Inter’s Serie A matches since the return from the November international break except for the one against Roma, in which he did not feature.

The 24-year-old has scored four goals and made two assists in his past four matches against the Granata, and will see this evening’s clash as an opportunity to get closer to the record set by his countryman Cruz.

Should Martinez find the back of the net against Torino this evening then he will have a chance to equal the record in his team’s first match back from the winter break, against Bologna.
