Legendary former Inter defender Marco Materazzi believes that the Nerazzurri must not underestimate Torino ahead of their Serie A clash tomorrow.

Speaking to the Inter Kick Off podcast, as reported by FCInterNews, Materazzi emphasized that the Granata are a well-organized team and that the Nerazzurri will have to take care to be at their best despite recent form.

Inter have enjoyed six wins on the bounce in Serie A, keeping clean sheets in their last five matches and scoring nine in just their last two fixtures in the Italian top flight.

Torino will be among the more difficult opponents who they have faced during their winning run, however, and have shown throughout the season the quality necessary to get a result even against very strong sides.

Materazzi hopes that Inter do not take three points for granted against the Granata and that they play at their best for one last push before the winter break.

“Facing Torino won’t be an easy game because it’s the one before Christmas and there comes a certain risk of thinking about parties instead of focusing on the match,” he stated.”

“It’s a very delicate match because Torino are a strong and organized team,” he added.

He went on that “It is a match that can give consistency, Inter are coming on the back of numerous positive results and have overturned a seven-point gap, but it takes very little to lose the lead, just look at the Napoli.”

“You have to stay on track,” Materazzi emphasized, “but the team is proving that they can do it.”

“I have no doubt, but in football anything can happen,” he concluded. “I hope to have a Merry Christmas, at the top of the table and with three points from Torino.”
