Inter recorded their seventh consecutive win in the Serie A after defeating an impressive Torino side by just the one goal to nil at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Nerazzurri started the match slow but quickly started creating chances which they failed to convert until Denzel Dumfries broke the deadlock with the only goal of the match.

Samir Handanovic – 7: Much busier 90 mins for Samir tonight. He was ready for it though as he kept his cool every time Torino attacked. Transmitted confidence to his team.

Milan Skriniar – 7: Another usual top-class performance from Skriniar. The only time he was beaten is when he conceded a free kick to Aina. Clearly a leader on the pitch.

Stefan De Vrij – 6.5: Stefan made sure he got to the long balls from the Torino defenders. The ball moves along so easily when he’s involved. Slowly getting back to his best.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7: Perhaps the most impressive defender for Inter tonight. Wins one on one situations like he’s being doing it for decades. Should have scored tonight.

Denzel Dumfries – 7: Inter attacked a lot from their left flank so Denzel had to ensure he kept his defensive position which he did. The confidence shone through in how he took his goal.

Arturo Vidal – 6.5: On the ball from minute one. Made plenty of telling interceptions and came out on top in a lot of duels when Inter were under pressure. Great backup.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6.5: Epic Brozo keeps on being epic. Controlled the midfield even though Inter were under a lot of pressure at the start. Couldn’t make his shots count tonight.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 6: Almost impossible for Hakan to keep playing like he has been playing since the Milan derby. Still a pretty good performance but Interisti have been spoiled.

Ivan Perisic – 6: Won a lot of aerial battles but his passing and combination play took some time to start working. His defensive combo with Bastoni looked impressive.

Edin Dzeko – 6.5: Struggled against the physicality of Torino’s defenders. Kept winning headers and putting in the hard yards. Credited with another assist for Dumfries.

Lautaro Martinez – 5: Missed a difficult one v one and ran himself into the ground tonight. The Torino defenders made their presence felt. Looked very tired in the second half.

Alexis Sanchez – 6.5: Gave the Torino defenders a headache tonight. Never stopped running and gave them some physicality to worry about. Unlucky not to score at the end.

Matias Vecino – 5.5: Unlike Alexis it took very long to notice him. Didn’t do anything special going forward or stopped any Toro attacks. Made sure he closed down channels.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – N/A: Simone Inzaghi noticed Denzel was tired and not able to contribute in attack. He brought in Danilo who sealed the right flank to see out the last 10 minutes.

Stefano Sensi – N/A: Set up the shot for Alexis that hit the post and went out. Would have been a nice way to end 2021 for Stefano. Hopefully he hits full fitness very soon.

Federico Dimarco – N/A: As Perisic tired, Dimarco was brought on to see injury time out. Federico will have his contract renewed and see a lot more minutes in the new year.

Simone Inzaghi – 6: A very tough opponent as Simone Inzaghi had warned. Inter didn’t manage to dominate the opponent but were sound defensively to seal 3 points.

Marco Guida – 5: Blew for a lot of soft free kicks that he shouldn’t have. Torino were very physical tonight and got away with a lot of fouls. Still managed to keep control.

Inter – 6: 7th straight win in a row and the ugliest one. Still managed to keep a clean sheet and beat a very stubborn and well-coached opponent. Great mentality.
