Inter midfielder Matias Vecino is not thought to be interested in a move to Serie A side Genoa despite the Grifone expressing interest in the Uruguayan for a January move, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by FCInternews, Genoa expressed interest in signing Matias Vecino in January but he has decided against the move.

The Uruguayan is keen to leave the Nerazzurri as he is getting very little game time under Simone Inzaghi this season and wants to resurrect his career elsewhere.

He wants to play at a higher level than Genoa can currently offer as they are at serious risk of being relegated this season. That is why the agent of the player is in conversations with club’s in Spain’s La Liga and the English Premier League.

The talks could be successful as his contract runs out in June 2022 meaning he would be a cheap signing.
