Former Lazio goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani has claimed that Napoli’s David Ospina and Inter’s Samir Handanovic are among the best goalkeepers this season, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking whilst as a guest on Sky Calcio Club, via FCInter1908, Luca Marchegiani explained that whilst he rates both of the goalkeepers in question, he is particularly impressed with the fact that Samir Handanovic has not conceded a goal in six Serie A fixtures now.
“Two goalkeepers among the best of the year: Ospina and Handanovic. Maybe Ospina has hit a bit more, but Inter have not conceded a goal in six games.”
The former Torino shot-stopper also discussed the fact that the win over Napoli gave Inter a new level of self assurance but they had to produce a different kind of display against Torino on Wednesday night.
“Inter have found certainties from the match against Napoli. Against Torino they did not win with the same ease and with the same dominance. The last game before the Christmas holidays is difficult physically and mentally.”
Inter won that match at San Siro against the Granata 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Denzel Dumfries who has found some fine goalscoring form.
It was not an easy match for Inter though as Torino were very willing to attack.
