Inter are hoping to continue having negotiations with Marcelo Brozovic in January having failed to find an agreement so far, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today, there is still a financial difference between the two parties when it comes to the contract that the Croatian midfielder must sign if he is to remain with the Nerazzurri beyond 2022.

Both the player and the club are keen to find an agreement rather than part ways but the Croatian is still seeking a salary of €7-8 million per season whereas Inter can only go up to €5.5 million in a contract that would run until 2025.

It is expected that the discussion will continue in January. There have still been no meaningful negotiations with Ivan Perisic and he is asking for €6 million which is an increase on his current salary.

Newcastle United are a team that may be willing to pay him that wage.
