Italian journalist Marco Bucciantini has claimed that the current Inter squad has been badly underestimated so far this season, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport 24, via FCInter1908, Marco Bucciantini took stock of the season that the Nerazzurri have had so far.

The journalist initially discussed the fact that after the departure of Antonio Conte and the sales of Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, it seemed Inter would be severely hindered for the next campaign.

Despite all of this, they now sit four points ahead at the top of the Serie A table and have reached the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League where they will face Liverpool.

“Inter started this season believing they will have to suffer, after helping the club in the summer with the sales. But they have built a wonderful end to the season. They have had other priorities, but have not compromised this final in 2021.

“In the last few years, two months has turned the league upside down. There is a trace of Conte’s work and there is a coach who entered very well in an environment that was already racing, putting the players at ease.”

Marco Bucciantini then went on to label the squad as wonderful and claimed that they were underestimated by many. He also said he would not alter the squad in the January transfer window coming up.

“Inter is a wonderful and even underestimated squad. In January I would not touch this team, which is already doing well.”
