Barcelona attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho is not likely to move to Inter in January, with a switch to Arsenal currently looking to be his likeliest destination.

This according to Spanish news outlet Sport, who report that talks between the Blaugranas and the Gunners are becoming serious while the Nerazzurri are likely out of the running.

Coutinho could be on his way out from Barcelona next month, with the Catalan giants very keen to get the Brazilian off of their wage bill.

A return to Inter has been reported as a possibility in the Spanish media, but this could prove to be problematic given the 29-year-old’s wages and the fact that he would not fill a position of need in the team.

Meanwhile, it looks to be a switch to the Premier League that is more plausible for the attacking midfielder, with Arsenal the side who are making the most inroads towards signing him in the January transfer window.
