Inter’s defense this season has been formidable, ranking as the sixth best in the five major European league over the first half of the season.

This is highlighted by Italian news outlet L’Interista, who note that the Nerazzuri’s defense is also the second-best in Serie A after Napoli.

During the first few matches of the campaign, Inter’s attack looked extremely strong, but they struggled to prevent goals and chances at the other end.

As the campaign has worn on, however, the defensive record has become a point of strength for the Nerazzurri, however, so much so that they have kept six clean sheets on the bounce.

As L’Interista highlight, they are behind only six teams in Europe in terms of their defensive record, as follows:

1) Manchester City: nine goals conceded in eighteen games, average of 0.5 goals conceded per game in the league
2) Chelsea: twelve goals conceded in eighteen games, average of 0.67 goals conceded per game in the league
3) Sevilla: thirteen goals conceded in eighteen games, average of 0.72 goals conceded per game in the league
4) Napoli: fourteen goals conceded in nineteen games, average of 0.73 goals conceded per game in the league
5) Wolverhampton Wanderers: fourteen goals conceded in eighteen games, average of 0.77 goals conceded per game in the league

6) Inter: fifteen goals conceded in nineteen games, average of 0.78 goals conceded per game in the league
