Inter Primavera midfielder Cesare Casadei has put himself into serious contention for a call-up to the first team with his form this season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who argue that the 18-year-old’s form will have caught the eye of Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Casadei was kept in the Primavera team over the summer despite interest in some other clubs in Italy, with the intent being to allow him to grow and prove himself close to home.

So far this campaign the teenager’s development has been on track, with his excellent form playing a key role in a strong first half of the season for the Primavera team.

Casadei has found the back of the net eight times from twenty games from midfield, while also showing the balance and tactical understanding to contribute much more to the team than just his end product in the final third.

Inzaghi has been observing Casadei’s development through the season, and given that the coach has already shown the willingness to give youngsters a chance by handing a first-team debut to Mattia Zanotti, he could follow suit with the teenage midfielder soon,
