Inter-linked Napoli captain remains far from agreeing on a new deal with his current club and is inching closer to a summer exit.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzzetta.it who report that the player hopes to continue with his club but that there is considerable distance on salary terms, and that Inter are one of the main clubs interested in signing him.

Insigne’s deal expires at the end of June 2022, and in spite of both the player and his club hoping to agree on an extension, the latest meetings have confirmed that the Partenopei only want to renew him on reduced terms while the player wants a salary increase.

It looks increasingly unlikely that the winger will be able to agree on a new deal with his club, and he has no shortage of suitors in the summer.

In Italy, Roma and Lazio are interested in the 30-year-old, while the likes of Bayern Munich and Tottenham Horspur are among his admirers abroad.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri remain keenly interested in signing Insigne on a free transfer having been linked with him over the summer, and they would be one of the main candidates to sign him in the summer.
