Inter-linked Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez could be on the move in January, as he wants to leave his current club.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 25-year-old remains hopeful of a move to the Nerazzurri after having missed out in the summer.

Nandez had been a target for Inter during the summer transfer window, with the club seeing the versatile Uruguayan as both a midfield option and a right-sided player who could take over after the sale of Achraf Hakimi.

However, the club were unable to agree on the terms of a deal with Cagliari, and so the midfielder remained with the Rossoblu for the start of the season.

However, Nandez would like a move away from the Sardinian club, and remains a major target for the Nerazzurri who see him as having the right profile to deputize for Nicolo Barella in the squad.

The Uruguayan is still making the switch to Inter, although he is not waiting around for the deal to materialize, and could also accept a move to a different club.
