Inter coach Simone Inzaghi wants to keep Alexis Sanchez in the team for at least the rest of the season, while CEO Beppe Marotta would be open to allowing him to leave next month.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the Chilean’s form has convinced Inzaghi to continue to rely on him while Marotta would consider moving for other profiles in the transfer market.

Despite having looked close to the exit door at Inter a couple months ago due to his limited playing time and expressed unhappiness with his situation, Sanchez has played his way into form.

The 33-year-old has appeared in the past five matches for the Nerazzurri, starting and getting on the scoresheet against Cagliari and Salernitana.

Inzaghi is now convinced that he can rely on Sanchez for at least until end of the season, while Marotta feels that given the forward’s injury record and wages, the club could still offload him in the January transfer window.

Moreover, the executive would like to reinforce the attack with a striker with the right profile to back up Edin Dzeko, something that could be done if Sanchez were to depart.
