Former Lazio head coach Delio Rossi believes that Inter have shown their quality despite difficult circumstances this season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the former coach gave the view that the Nerazzurri’s strong form is not something that should have been automatically assumed would happen.

Inter have hardly missed a beat this season even after a summer which saw them part ways with their head coach Antonio Conte as well as key players Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.

Now, with the Nerazzurri four points clear at the top of the table with half a season gone, it appears as though the team have confirmed their status as Italian champions from last campaign.

However, as Rossi points out, the Nerazzurri’s form did not materialize from thin air and in fact has proven a number of doubters wrong given the changes and uncertainties between last season’s successes and the good form this time around.

“Huge credit to Inzaghi, the players, and the club,” Rossi said. “It was not easy to be on top at this point, especially with so many new arrivals, the change of coach and losing two vital players.”

He added that “Winning is not easy, but proving yourself is not to be taken for granted.”
