Inter have found themselves five points better off in the Serie A table than they were after one half of the season played last campaign.

This is highlighted by Italian news outlet L’Interista, who note that the Nerazzurri’s points total of 46 compares favourably to the 41 that they had managed after eighteen matches played last time around.

Inter have managed to earn the status of “winter champions” by surging to the top of the table in recent matches, looking the form side across the first round of fixtures.

The Nerazzurri’s impressive points haul compares favourably not only to their rivals in the division this season, but also to their own exploits last campaign when they went on to win the Scudetto.

Inter have not made the biggest gains, however, as both Fiorentina and Torino are eleven points better off than they were this time last season.

The complete list of teams is as follows:

Inter 46 (+5)

Milan 42 (-1)

Napoli 39 (+5)

Atalanta 38 (+2)
