Former Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is content with his decision to leave the Nerazzurri for Chelsea over the summer.

This according to his agent Federico Pastorello, who spoke to Sky Sport Italia and explained that the Belgian striker felt that the decision was the right one for his career.

Lukaku had been a key player for the Nerazzurri on the way to the Scudetto last season, leading Serie A in combined goals and assists.

The 28-year-old had been expected to stay at the club for this campaign, but a massive offer upended things, tempting both the club to sell and the striker to make the switch.

In the end Lukaku decided to depart from Inter and sign for the Champions League holders, a move which caused some controversy and rocked the Nerazzurri heading into the final month of the transfer window.

Inter look to have done well to move on from their former talisman while Lukaku has shown glimpses of his quality but not shown the form he did in Serie A on a consistent basis for the Blues.

At any rate, the player is happy with his decision to make the massive summer move, according to his agent.

“Romelu made a decision, which was one we shared,” Pastorello stated.

Of the striker’s time at Chelsea the agent said that “He started very well, then returned after two months away due to injury but then he had COVID.”

“Now he has made an emphatic return by scoring a goal and winning a penalty [against Aston Villa yesterday],” he continued, “I’m sure that he will do great and will be a key player for Chelsea this season.”

“We are happy with the decision that we made,” Pastorello concluded.
