Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is close to renewing with the Nerazzurri and will not be joining a club in the Premier League.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who note that UK outlets are no longer reporting serious interest from English teams as the player inches closer to agreeing a new contract with Inter.

The Nerazzurri have been in active talks with Brozovic for the past few weeks on extending his current deal past the end of June 2022, and they now look closer than ever to finding an agreement.

Since the summer a number of top European sides have shown an interest in signing the Croat given his contract situations, with Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool chief among them.

However, these teams appear to have given up hope on a move for Brozovic despite last-ditch efforts by Newcastle United to tempt him with a substantial offer, as an extension with Inter becomes by far the likeliest possibility.
