Premier League club Newcastle United have made a major offer to Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, but he has no intention of leaving the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old has received a number of offers with Newcastle’s being the largest, but that he prefers to remain at Inter.

Brozovic has yet to agree on a contract extension with the Nerazzurri, with a renewal a major priority for the club given that his current deal expires at the end of June 2022.

However, it has always appeared to be clear that the Croat’s preference is to stay on at the Nerazzurri even as a number of teams have looked to swoop for him given his situation.

Brozovic and Inter have been getting closer to an agreement through their talks over the past few weeks, and a new deal looks to be on the way shortly.

Meanwhile, Newcastle remain the team most committed to tempting Brozovic away with a large offer, but the midfielder is not interested.
