Inter could bring in Everton left-back Lucas Digne during the January transfer window, but only if a player is to leave the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri can agree a loan deal for the 28-year-old should one of Matias Vecino, Aleksandar Kolarov, or Stefano Sensi depart.

Inter have been in contract with Everton about the possibility of signing Digne on loan next month, with the Frenchman identified as their preferred target for a backup to Ivan Perisic.

Digne is ready to leave in January after having fallen out with Toffees coach Rafa Benitez, and his main suitors look to be Inter and Napoli.

The Toffees are ready to let the 28-year-old leave, but only on a loan which includes an obligation to buy him on a permanent basis.

The Nerazzurri are not currently able to offer a loan deal which would include a purchase obligation and prefer a loan with an option.

However, should one of Aleksandar Kolarov, Stefano Sensi, or Matias Vecino leave the club then they will feel that they have more room to find an agreement with Everton and sign Digne.
