Inter are getting close to agreeing a new contract with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the club are inching towards an agreement on salary terms and should soon secure the 29-year-old’s future.

Given Brozovic’s importance at the Nerazzurri, the club are willing to offer him significant wages to convince him to stay on past next summer when his current deal expires.

The Nerazzurri initially moved past €5 million net per season in their offer, and then up to €5.5 million net, and now they are offering a net of €6 million per season plus add-ons, on part with what Lautaro Martinez offers.

Meanwhile, the midfielder has gone down from his initial request of €8 million net per season to a net of €7 million.

The parties are getting closer and closer and it now looks to be only a matter of time before an agreement is found.
