Inter are set to hold talk with wing-back Ivan Perisic about a new contract starting in February.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that there is still significant distance between the parties before an agreement can be found.

Perisic’s form this season has prompted the Nerazzurri to become more serious in their efforts to try and extend his deal, which currently expires at the end of June 2022.

The player is asking for a wage raise to a net of €6 million per season in order to commit his future to the club, far above what Inter are willing to put forward.

However, the club are now ready to offer him a two-year deal worth €4 million net per season, and look to be willing to work to find an agreement.

The club will hold a meeting in February where they will look to see if the distance between the parties can be reconciled and they can secure the Croat’s future beyond next summer.
