Former Juventus and Fiorentina midfielder Angelo Di Livio believes that Inter striker Edin Dzeko would have been a perfect fit at the Bianconeri this season.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the 55-year-old suggested that his former side missed out in not signing the Bosnian who instead moved to Inter.

The Nerazzurri moved fast to snap up Dzeko from Roma when they needed attacking reinforcements following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.

The 35-year-old had established himself as one of the most consistent performers in Serie A across his six seasons with the Giallorossi, and had been a target for both Juventus and Inter across several transfer windows.

So far this season, Dzeko has looked like a good fit at Inter and has given the team the qualities that they need in attack, while the Bianconeri have stuttered in the final third, and Di Livio believes that this is no coincidence.

“In the summer, they needed to have signed Dzeko,” he said of the Bianconeri, “he would have been the perfect solution. But now they must regret missing out.”
