Inter are in talks with Everton to bring in left-back Lucas Digne during the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are in active talks for the 28-year-old but face competition from Napoli and Chelsea.

Digne is on the outs with Toffees head coach Rafa Benitez and looks increasingly likely to depart from the club next month.

Inter have identified the Frenchman as one of their main considerations to back up Ivan Perisic on the left side of the team.

Digne already has experience in Serie A, having spent the 2015-16 season on loan with Roma.

The Nerazzurri face competition from the likes of fellow Italian side Napoli as well as Premier League giants Chelsea for Digne’s signature, with the Blues in particular ramping up their talks for the player alongside Inter, and it remains to be seen which clubs finds an agreement.
