Inter President Steven Zhang has firmly denied all reports that Nerazzurri owners Suning are looking to sell the club to Saudi sovereign wealth fund the PIF.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the President has described these reports as “fake news.”

Rumours of a sale at Inter have swirled for sometime, and the PIF have been among the parties reported to have the most interest in buying the club.

Yesterday US newspaper IB Times reported that a sale of the club is already a done deal, adding to rumours from other journalists including a report by Milan-based newspaper Libero in January.

However, as has always been the case with reports of an imminent sale to the PIF, these rumours have been met with a firm rebuttal from Zhang.

The current owners at Inter have continued to signal that it is their intent to continue their running of the club despite financial difficulties.
