Ivan Perisic wants to stay at Inter, and his priority is to find an agreement with the club on a new deal past the summer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who claim that the 32-year-old wants to monetize the contract to the greatest extent possible but that he prefers to stay with the Nerazzurri rather than switch to a different club.

Perisic has been in excellent form this season, and the club are now hoping to extend his deal past the end of June 2022 when it currently expires.

The club have also been linked with a number of possible long-term replacements for the Croat, but given his form this season they could instead prioritize renewing with him.

According to FCInterNews, the player for his part is determined to stay at Inter, with his relationship very good with coach Simone Inzaghi.

Moreover, Perisic is friends with teammate Marcelo Brozovic, and with the 29-year-old looking closer and closer to a renewal, this could provide further incentive for Perisic to stay.

The issues of wages still remains, with the player hoping to get as large a deal as possible with what could be his last significant professional contract.

However, according to the report, he is still prioritizing finding an agreement in talks with the club, who are set to sit at the table with him once a renewal of Brozovic is wrapped up.
